Mary Plazas as Adès’ Duchess in Dresden
Mary Plazas has been singing The Duchess in Thomas Adès’s Powder Her Face for Semperoper Dresden. The production by Georg Schmiedleitner opened on Friday 20 October, and was conducted by Tim Anderson. She has previously sung the role for various companies including for Northern Ireland Opera (pictured) as well as on Channel 4 TV and DVD.
