An afternoon workshop led by mezzo-soprano and vocal coach Mary King on Bach’s dramatic choral masterpiece assisted by Canadian tenor Daniel Auchincloss,

King, former artistic director of Southbank Centre’s Voicelab, guides singers in an exploration of extracts from the work. Composed during Bach’s first year as director of church music in Leipzig, this thrilling, experimental piece was first performed on 7 April 1724.
